We seek to provide a rustic, affordable, primitive camping experience for those wishing to explore the beautiful serene wilderness of northern Maine.

Making our move to Maine from right outside of Philadelphia happened suddenly in 2016. A job offer to a place that we hoped to one day call home launched us into our journey - the journey that we continue to this day - the journey to create the life we want.

Robert and Marie purchased land in Mount Chase, Maine in October of 2011 as a wedding gift to themselves with the goal of one day moving north. When the job offer came along it was too good to be true. They made the move and have not had a single regret

In 2020 Robert and Marie noticed that the adjacent land was being logged and wishfully wondered if that land would become available so they could add to their previously purchased homestead. Sure enough, in the spring of 2021 they got the call. Adding nearly 200 acres to their wilderness home was surreal. Next came the idea of what to do with all of this natural beauty. They both agreed that it should stay as wild as possible while allowing others to enjoy the surreal beauty of northern Maine.

After much thought and several different ideas Crystal Brook Camping was born.

In the fall of 2021 Marie’s sister Charlene and her family came to visit. After exploring the land and surrounding community they made the decision to move north as well and join in on the land. An accomplished artist and teacher at the local school, Charlene hand painted the Crystal Brook Camping sign that you see below.
